Chromatics Flyer, Collaboration with Alex Sushon
After receiving my email from Howkapow I took a look on the website they recommended on the work by Kate Moross. I am pleased to say that I adore the work and find it a great inspiration as she used simple prints of shapes with colour to create fresh and funky designs which are very on trend at the moment with the geometric designs.
Looking at her work has also showed me that there are a range of products that the type of designs that I have been creating with shapes like hers can go on. This has helped me to see forward past experimental and sketchbook work and look into a more commercial root. I was also delighted to see that a lot of her work has been designed for album covers or club night posters which is something that I have always been interested in!
I am very thankful for Howkapow for introducing me to this designer as I have found it a great inspiration and feel it has opened my eyes to what my work can be applied to. It also shows how important it is to get in contact with designers from the industry as they have such a wide knowledge of the art world and therefore can inspire you and help you so much.
I also think that the layout and pattern designs on her website is lovely and fits in with her work perfectly. This is something that I would like to think more about over the holidays with my design for my blog and now that I have some spare time I can look into designing something for it that suits my style of work. The link to her website is below and i've included a few images that I was really dawn to because of layout, pattern and shape:
Zomby 'One Foot Ahead Of The Other EP'
Pictureplane Rune'ss T-Shirt
Monochrome Tribal Poster
