Using Adobe Illustrator.

Final Designs for first project.

For our first project of this year we were asked to create six digital wallpaper print designs that were suitable for six different rooms in a house. The designs for the rooms had to ensure that they contained objects found in these rooms e.g. spoon in a kitchen. We were to design these wallpapers using Adobe Illustrator, which having never used before I found quite a challenge!

I began my challenge by drawing basic shapes with the pen tool and then started to trace over objects that I had drawn on paper and scanned in. The more I practised with Illustrator the better I got at it and eventually I felt I had a strong understanding of how to use the software and what you can achieve with it. I still feel like I have a lot to learn on Illustrator but I am pleased with my results of the final designs and I think I did the best I could in the allocated time I had to create them.

As became more confident on Illustrator I began to experiment with Adobe Photoshop as well, so I decided to mix the two together and so I added in a background that I edited with an artistic filter for this last design for my living room.
